BSC (HONS) IN BUSINESS AND INDUSTRIAL MATHEMATICS

The BSc (Hons.) in Business and Industrial Mathematics degree is offered by CINEC Campus and is approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka. This is a 4 year degree and CINEC always facilitates students to find their internship in the first 6 months of the final year. Many job opportunities in Business and Industrial Mathematics are highly sought by the industry; This industry, at present experiences a shortage of qualified workforce in order to face future challenges.

Entry qualifications

  • Those who have passed GCE A/L examination with three passes for Main subjects in Mathematics Scheme including “ S “ grade for Combined Mathematics.

    OR

    Any other qualification of comparable standing recognized by UGC of Sri Lanka such as Edxcel/Cambrige with three passes for Main subjects in Mathematics Scheme including “S ”grade for Combined Mathematics.

MBA

MBA is a Ministry of Higher Education approved Masters Degree program offered by the CINEC Campus. Prospective candidates are given the opportunity to follow the program through various channels.  The faculty comprises academically qualified industry professionals from whom the students are immensely benefited. The modules are very carefully developed to bridge the present knowledge and competence gap in the industry. Flexible time table and methods of course delivery are provided considering the practical constraints the working students.   1. Bachelor’s honors degree in any field of study with a first or second class pass;

  1. Bachelor’s honors degree in any field of study with one year post qualifying work experience in managerial and similar capacity;

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field of study with two years’ post qualifying work experience in managerial and similar capacity;

or

  1. Professional qualification equivalent to Bachelor’s degree (SLQF Level 5 or above) from a recognized professional body with two years’ post qualifying work experience in managerial and similar capacity;

  1. Completion of NVQ Level 7 or equivalent qualification with two years’ post qualifying work experience in managerial and similar capacity;

or

  1. Professional qualification equivalent to Bachelor’s degree (SLQF level 5 or above) or Completion of NVQ Level 7 with Postgraduate Diploma in management discipline with two years’ post qualifying work experience in managerial and similar capacity;

  • Postgraduate Diploma in management disciplines at least one year duration with three years’ post qualifying work experience in managerial and similar capacity;

  • Higher National Diploma in management disciplines at least two year duration with four years post qualifying work experience in managerial and similar capacity;

BBM (HONS) IN ACCOUNTING

The unprecedented changes in modern times and technology have already made a huge impact on accounting and innovations in technology will compel future accounting professionals acquire more skills and continuously update accounting knowledge. The BMgt. (Hons.) in Retail Marketing and Branding degree is a 4 year full degree and CINEC always facilitates students to find their internship in the first 6 months of the final year. BMGT. (HONS) IN TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT

BMgt. (Hons) in Tourism and Hospitality Management degree is a program which students can obtain an honors degree of 4 years duration with specialization in the field of Cruise Tourism Management or Travel and Event Management. CINEC facilitates students to find their internship in the final year in reputed organizations. Internationally, Travel and Tourism generated US$7.2 Trillion in 2015, accounting for 9.8% of global gross domestic product, and 1 in 11 jobs worldwide were in the Travel and Tourism sector. BBM (HONS) IN BANKING AND FINANCE

Banking and Finance sectors play an important role in the economic development of any country in the world. These sectors are considered as major service sectors of any country, contribute to the economic development not only by providing the Banking and Financial Services to the society but also by contributing a considerable amount to the Gross Domestic Products (GDP). As far as the Sri Lankan economy is concerned, corporate sector organizations in Sri Lanka use Banking and Financial services very effectively to manage their financial assets or wealth. They will not be able to meet their needs without having fully qualified, efficient and skilled human resources in the field of Banking and Finance within their organizations.

Course Assessments

All the course units listed in the curriculum employ a continuous evaluation methodology which has traditionally proven to be the best approach to be employed. Most of the course units employ a mix of interim and final examination. Interim assessments can take many forms (such as case studies, group works, Individual assessments, debates etc.)

Following criteria were adopted when deciding the proportion of marks to Continuous Assessments (CA) and End Semester Examination (ESE):

  • Theoretically oriented course units – 30% CA & 70% ESE
  • Practically oriented course units – 40% CA & 60% ESE
